This week is Volunteers’ Week.

Today in the library we had customers ranging in age from 18 months to 80. An older couple sat and read for a while in the armchairs, a dad read with his two children.
We helped customers choose and check out their books, printed a customers forms, reserved books by an author a customer has got really into…all in the first hour of opening.

Tadcaster Library is run day to day entirely by volunteers.
Without this incredible team, Tadcaster and the surrounding areas wouldn’t have this incredible resource, so let’s start Volunteers’ week with a huge thank you to our fab team!

Opening the library in thunder and torrential rain but the forecast says it’s going to be glorious in a couple of hours…it’s a confusing weather kind of day.

There’s no story and rhyme time for the little ones today as it’s half term but everyone is welcome.

We’re here until 1, so we hope to see lots of you soon…in flip flops and a waterproof coat!

A reminder that the library is closed today, we re-open tomorrow at 1.30.
