Tadcaster Community Swimming Pool The Tadcaster Community Swimming Pool first opened in December 1994 and is one of the region's most Our volunteers are given full training free of charge.

The Tadcaster Community Swimming Pool first opened in December 1994 and is one of the region's most popular swimming pool and fitness venues. The Trust relies on the help and support of many volunteers who are managed by a small core of paid staff. This includes National Pool Lifeguard, First Aid, Reception training and Maintenance training. Many of our volunteers are students, people wanting to r

eturn to the working environment, parents or retired people. See the links above for more information on volunteering at Tadcaster Swimming Pool. A varied program offers general swimming, sessions for the Over 45's, aquafit, a disabled club, pool parties, a canoe club, a junior swim squad, parent and toddler sessions, adult lane swimming as well as an extensive swimming lesson and Fitness Suite program. There are links to all the clubs who hire the pool from the Trust. We also run intensive swimming courses throughout the school holidays. The Trust receives no ongoing financial support and is funded through the community using the facility. All admissions help to keep the facility open.

With the school holidays coming to an end, we'll be returning to our normal timetable from Monday morning.

Please take a moment to check the updated timetable before your visit, as some swim sessions and activities may differ from our holiday programme.

⚠️ Customer Notice – Car Park Lighting Improvements ⚠️

As part of our annual electrical safety testing, we've identified that sections of our external lighting system have reached the end of their operational life and now require replacement.

To ensure the continued safety and reliability of the facility, works will begin from Monday 1st June and are expected to last for approximately two weeks.

During this period, contractors will be carrying out extensive ground works to replace underground cabling and upgrade the car park lighting. As a result, parking spaces will be limited while the works are underway.

If you're visiting the centre during this time, we kindly ask that you:
🚶 Walk to the pool where possible
🅿️ Consider using alternative parking, such as the Central Area Car Park
👀 Follow any temporary signage and instructions from staff on site

We're carrying out these works now to ensure the facility remains safe and reliable for years to come, and we'd like to thank everyone in advance for their patience and understanding.

After a brilliant response to our first programme, we’re excited to launch another First Steps to Fitness starting next week 🙌

Designed for non-exercisers or those with little to no gym experience, this 6-week course helps build confidence in the gym with guided support from our fitness team 💪

🗓️ Starting Thursday 4th June
⏰ 1:30pm – 2:30pm
📍 Running weekly until 9th July

✅ Guided sessions with our instructor
✅ Learn how to use the gym confidently
✅ Finish with your own personalised fitness programme

💷 £48 for 6 sessions (pay-as-you-go members)

Conspiracy theorists will say we faked a pool closure this week just to make sure the bollards didn’t get knocked over… 👀😂

But somehow, after everything this week has thrown at us, they’re STILL standing.

We’re pleased to confirm that the facility will be back open as normal from tomorrow (Friday 22.05.2026) 🙌

Following the technical issues earlier this week, our team alongside external engineers have worked around the clock to get the pool systems safely back up and running.

We’d like to say a huge thank you to all our customers for your patience, understanding, and support over the last few days 💙

⚠️ Customer Update ⚠️

Yesterday afternoon, we experienced technical issues with our pool filtration system, which unfortunately caused a full facility power cut and forced us to close the centre at short notice.

Since then, we’ve had the appropriate engineers working both overnight and throughout today to assess and resolve the issue.

At this stage, the pool hall, changing rooms, and all pool activities will remain closed until Friday, 22nd May while works continue. This is dependent on the issue being fully resolved within the next 48 hours.

The good news is that power has now been restored to reception and the fitness suite, allowing us to reopen the gym from tomorrow with limited operating hours:

We understand how frustrating unexpected closures can be and sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused. Thank you for your patience and understanding while we work to get everything safely back up and running.
