An afternoon at Partridge Lakes Cafe.

On Monday, Ben and Gary enjoyed a visit to Partridge Lakes. Even the weather couldn’t stop them from making the most of their day.

They enjoyed a delicious lunch and some cake in the undercover gazebo whilst looking out over the lakeside. 🍰

Partridge Lakes has a range of accessible facilities, including wheelchair-accessible fishing pegs, accessible toilets and Blue Badge parking close to Ribbon Lake. There is also a Lakeside Café and covered seating areas, making it a great place to enjoy a day out whatever the weather.

Wheeling through the week. 🚲

Getting out on a bike is a great way to have fun, get active and enjoy doing something different.

Using a range of adapted cycles means people can choose a bike that works for them and enjoy cycling in their own way, with support there when they need it.

We work in partnership with Wheels For All Greater Manchester and run regular sessions using our own adapted bikes at Waterside and Alexandra Community Hub. Our staff, trained by Wheels for All, deliver sessions both outdoors and indoors to make cycling accessible for everyone.

Pizza making at St George’s Community Hub.

Every Friday morning, our cookery group makes something new and tasty. Last week, homemade pizzas were on the menu!

Everyone made their own pizza and chose their favourite toppings. They looked delicious and were a great idea for a Friday night treat. 🍕

The people we support enjoyed cooking together, choosing what they wanted on their pizzas and trying something different.

Well done everyone!

At Alexandra Community Hub, Mavis chose to spend some time completing a jigsaw puzzle, with support from Georgia, one of our volunteers.

Whilst working on the puzzle together, Mavis and Georgia enjoyed chatting and reminiscing about Mavis’s memories of doing jigsaws in the past. It was a lovely activity that Mavis really enjoyed and engaged with.

Sophie, Support Worker said "Thank you to Georgia for your time, kindness and support always. You are a valuable asset to Alexandra Community Hub and we appreciate everything you do."

Based in Eccles, Alexandra Community Hub supports people with learning disabilities, older people and people with dementia. The people we support take part in a range of activities, learn new skills, build their independence and enjoy days out in the local community.

Last week, we welcomed five trainees from Step into Salford to visit some of our Provider Services and find out more about the work we do.

Max, Chloe, Fetah, Cecilia and Ray visited different services, where they met staff and the people we support.

It was great to hear their feedback about their visits which we will be sharing soon!

Heather, our Activity and Volunteer Lead, said: “A big thank you to all the services and staff who welcomed the trainees and took the time to show them around.”

Step into Salford supports young people to build their confidence, develop workplace skills and experience what it is like to work within Salford City Council. It also gives them the chance to explore different jobs and think about their future careers.

Weekends, bowling and Wingstop. You can’t beat it. 🎳

Andrew and Michael recently enjoyed a trip to Hollywood Bowl in Bolton for an afternoon of bowling and a little friendly competition.

Support Worker, Yakub, said: “Andrew won the bowling match this time, but Michael and Andrew are already looking forward to going back for a rematch!”

After bowling, they headed to Wingstop for some lunch to finish off a great day out together.

Our Supported Living service supports people to live as independently as possible, make their own choices and enjoy activities and opportunities that are important to them.
