When Lincoln reached out to Citizens Advice Swindon Financial Wellbeing team, he was trapped in a financial crisis. His chronic illness had ended his ability to work, his income couldn’t meet rising bills and he had accumulated £3,225 in debt. With no savings, no food budget and no way to switch to cheaper energy, he was at breaking point.
Citizens Advice delivered a full rescue plan with emergency food support, including major income gains through benefit schemes worth £13,000 annually. They also froze creditor action, reduced his bills and negotiated affordable repayments. Today, Lincoln’s debts are under control.
