Busway crossing closure - Covel's Drain
Your support is needed to help keep this crossing point open once the busway has been fenced off.

The parish councils of Fen Drayton, Fenstanton, Over and Swavesey, are keen to see the Covel’s Drain crossing of the busway near Swavesey be formalised and kept open for use after the busway fencing is installed.

To this end, a Definitive Map Modification Order (DMMO) is being drawn up to ask Cambridgeshire County Council to investigate if this route should be formalised. Time is important as the DMMO process needs to be completed before the fencing is installed.

If you have ever used this crossing (including before the busway was built and during gravel pit workings), and you would like to help, please contact your parish clerk/office for a DMMO form to complete. Or download and print out the form from the website. Link in the comments below.
Thank you

Road closures and roadworks happening in Swavesey August-Sept:

15th Aug – Middle Watch. CCC, two-way signals.

17-21 Aug – Station Rd (by Swan Pond). Closed to traffic. Pedestrians, cyclists, horses can still get through. Camb Water works. NOTE Tiger 1 buses will not be able to access the busway during this closure, so the T1 will use Ramper Rd to get to/from the busway, therefore it will not be running through the village. The only stop used during the Station Rd closure will be the one by Rose & Crown Rd junction.

12th-14th Aug – Middle Watch. Cambridge Water, Two-way signals.
Road closures and roadworks happening during Sept:

1-6th Sept – Gibraltar Lane. Cadent Gas. Gas pipe installations.

22nd Sept, 08:00hrs to 17:00 hrs. Station Road. Closed to through traffic between Middle Fen Drove and Station Road. NOTE as above re the T1 buses using Ramper Rd rather than through the village.

23rd-29th Sept – Taylors Lane. No through route along Taylors Lane. Ducting and associated works.

30th Sept – 2nd Oct – Over Road. Closed to traffic between Guided busway car park and Station Rd, Over (New Rd corner). Ducting and associated works.

❓Why are we consulting on the Local Plan again?

The proposed submission version of the Greater Cambridge Local Plan has been updated following earlier consultations and thousands of comments from residents, businesses and organisations.

We are now consulting on the version that is intended to be submitted to Government for independent examination.

A Local Plan sets out how an area will grow and develop in the future.

Comments should focus on whether the Plan is justified by evidence, deliverable and legally compliant.
