💙 Local Mind Week 2026 | What’s the difference between Swansea Mind and Mind?

It’s a question we’re asked quite often…

Although we share the same name and vision, Swansea Mind and Mind (the national charity) are different organisations, working together to improve mental health.

💚 National Mind
National Mind leads campaigns across England and Wales, influences government policy, tackles stigma, funds research, and creates trusted mental health information and resources. They also support the network of 97 Local Minds.

💙 Swansea Mind
We’re an independent local charity, here to support people across Swansea.

That means we:
• Deliver local mental health services and wellbeing support.
• Employ local staff and volunteers.
• Respond to the needs of our own community.
• Raise our own funding to keep our services running.
• Have our own Board of Trustees and make our own decisions as an independent charity.

When you support Swansea Mind, your donations, fundraising and volunteering stay right here in Swansea, helping local people access the mental health support they need.

Being part of the Mind network gives us the strength of a national movement, while allowing us to focus on what matters most—our local community.

💙 Together, we’re fighting for better mental health. Locally and nationally.
