HM Coastguard Area 13 Flood Team responded to the widespread flooding in Monmouth through Friday 14th and Saturday 15th of November.

HM Coastguard Flood Teams are made up of Full Time Officers and Volunteers from across South and West Wales.

The team worked tirelessly through the night with Area 12 & 14 Flood teams along with partner agencies to assist those that needed rescuing or evacuating.

On the 8th of March 2025, Port Talbot Coastguard was honoured to receive the Colin Rees Award, presented by The High Sheriff of West Glamorgan. This prestigious award recognises the outstanding dedication and service of those who play a vital role in safeguarding our coastal communities.

The award was accepted by members of the Port Talbot Coastguard Team, whose professionalism, commitment, and selflessness reflect the values of the Port Talbot Coastguard Team as a whole. Their collective efforts have been instrumental in ensuring the safety and well-being of all who rely on our coastline.

We extend our deepest congratulations and gratitude to the Port Talbot Coastguard team for their exceptional work and ongoing commitment to the community.

Great Day today down in Llansteffan for the Area 13 Mud Rescue CPD. A brilliant opportunity to practise our skills, work together, and tackle some real-life scenarios.

A huge thank you to Towy Boat Club for letting us use the facilities, and to HM Coastguard Llansteffan for their support throguhout.
