Caredig in Bloom 2026: Our Gardens Are Blooming Brilliant!

What a beautiful summer it has been for Caredig in Bloom 2026! Despite the challenges of hot weather and the hosepipe ban affecting some of our tenants in West Wales, our annual garden competition has once again shown just how much care, creativity and pride goes into our communities.

The results are in! Watch our video to see this year’s winners and their beautiful gardens.

A huge thank you to everyone who entered — the standard gets better every year, and you certainly made the judges’ job a tough one!

Summer Smiles & Community Vibes at Cwmdu Close, Swansea!

We rounded off our school holiday events at Cwmdu Close, Swansea today and what a fantastic summer it’s been! We’ve loved spending time with our communities and creating special moments together.

A huge thank you to Swansea Council for supporting us through the Holiday Food Grant, which helped us distribute more than 90 lunch boxes throughout the holidays. Thank you to The Crazy Baker for once again supplying us with freshly made sandwiches.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made this summer one to remember!

A great morning was had by all at our latest school summer holiday event in Clos yr Afon, Ammanford today. We managed to fit in lots of fun and games before the rain came.
Thank you to all the residents who came out to see us. We enjoyed the conversations and the positive feedback about your local community.
We had several talented street artists in the making!

🏠 What is retrofit?

Retrofit means making improvements to existing homes to help them become more energy efficient. This makes homes easier to heat, helps them stay warmer for longer, and can reduce reliance on fossil fuels by introducing renewable energy solutions.

What happens at a retrofit assessment?

A qualified assessor will visit your home and:

✔️ Check the condition of your property
✔️ Review your heating and hot water systems
✔️ Assess windows, glazing and ventilation
✔️ Create a detailed floor plan

These assessments are the first step in helping make Caredig homes more energy efficient, comfortable and sustainable for the future. 💚

Sun, Sea Air & Smiles: A Summer Day Out in the Gower!

Summer smiles were in full swing for our third holiday event! ☀️ We headed to Monksland in the Gower for a gorgeous morning of garden games, activities and free packed lunches for the children. It was brilliant to spend time with residents, soak up the sunshine and hear all about the fantastic community they’ve built — from regular get-togethers on the green to street BBQs and pool parties. Community spirit at its finest!

A big thank you to all the residents who came along, joined in, and took the time to chat with us. We really appreciate your support and engagement — it was lovely to hear your thoughts, share conversations, and spend time together as part of the community.
