Yn ogystal â dogfennau ynglŷn â diwydiant a datblygiad lleol, mae ein casgliadau yn cynnwys eitemau sy’n ymdrin â theithiau unigolion lleol o amgylch y byd. Mae’r ffotograff hwn yn dangos arddulliau ffasiwn hardd dwy fenyw yn Tokyo ym 1945.

Besides documents relating to local industry and development, our collections also include items covering local individuals’ travels around the globe. This photograph shows the beautiful fashion styles of two women in Tokyo in 1945.

Celebrating the history, heritage and chapels of Swansea and the surrounding area.

The Capeli Cymru Project Team (Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales), West Glamorgan Archives, CHERISH - National Churches Trust, Heritage Forward, and Heritage Network will be in Y Storfa, Swansea on Wednesday, 6th May to talk about their exciting work and the different ways you can get involved.

The Capeli Cymru project aims to preserve the Nonconformist heritage of Wales. We would love to talk with people about the chapels of Swansea and the surrounding area, those open and those now closed and in a different use.

For chapels that are open, we would like to hear about your experiences – the things that work well for your chapel, the challenges, and what would help to keep the chapel open.

For those that have closed, please bring your memories. We would love to see photos, minute books, chapel crockery or other objects that were important to the chapel congregation.

If you own a former chapel, we’d also love to hear about your experiences.

For more information, please contact [email protected]

The Capeli Cymru Project is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players, we are helping to preserve the Nonconformist heritage of Wales.

Yn dathlu hanes, treftadaeth a chapeli Abertawe a’r ardal cyfagos.

Bydd Tîm Prosiect Capeli Cymru (Comisiwn Brenhinol Henebion Cymru), Archifau Gorllewin Morgannwg, Ymddiriedolaeth Genedlaethol yr Eglwysi – CHERISH, Treftadaeth Ymlaen, a Rhwydwaith Treftadaeth yn Y Storfa, Abertawe ar Ddydd Mercher, y 6ed o Fai i siarad am eu gwaith cyffrous a’r gwahanol ffyrdd y gallwch chi gymryd rhan.

Nod prosiect Capeli Cymru yw gwarchod treftadaeth Anghydffurfiol Cymru. Byddem wrth ein bodd yn siarad â phobl am gapeli Abertawea’r ardal gyfagos, y rhai sydd ar agor a’r rhai sydd bellach ar gau ac mewn defnydd gwahanol.

Ar gyfer capeli sydd ar agor, hoffem glywed am eich profiadau – y pethau sy’n gweithio’n dda i’ch capel, yr heriau, a beth fyddai’n helpu i gadw’r capel ar agor.

I’r rhai sydd wedi cau, dewch â’ch atgofion. Byddem wrth ein bodd yn gweld lluniau, llyfrau cofnodion, crochenwaith capel neu wrthrychau eraill a oedd yn bwysig i gynulleidfa’r capel.

Os ydych chi’n berchen ar gyn-gapel, byddem wrth ein bodd yn clywed am eich profiadau.

Am fwy o wybodaeth, cysylltwch â [email protected]

Mae Prosiect Capeli Cymru wedi’i wneud yn bosibl gyda Chronfa Treftadaeth y Loteri Genedlaethol. Diolch i chwaraewyr y Loteri Genedlaethol, rydym yn helpu i ddiogelu treftadaeth Anghydffurfiol Cymru.

Ar gyfer Diwrnod Genedlaethol y Brodyr a Chwiorydd, rydyn ni am rannu’r llun tyrion yma o Henry ac Amy Dillwyn, a dynnwyd gan Mary, eu chwaer hŷn, yn y 1850au.

For National Sibling Day, we wanted to share this very sweet photograph of siblings Henry and Amy Dillwyn, taken by their older sister Mary in the 1850s.

Mae’r catalog penblwydd Lewis Lewis yma o 1966 yn cynnwys sawl proffil byr am reolwyr adrannol y siop. Mae’n gipolwg gwych ar arferion siopa’r gorffennol - rydyn ni’n dwli ar yr hysbysebion hefyd!

~~~~~
This 1966 anniversary edition of the Lewis Lewis catalogue contains several mini profiles on the department store managers. It’s a great glimpse into the shopping habits of the past - we love the adverts too!
Dyma’r mis cyntaf ar ôl i ni symud ein casgliadau archifau i’w preswylfa newydd. Rydyn ni’n mynd i rannu’r stori lawn cyn bo hir am sut cyflawnon ni’r symudiad mawr, ond yn y cyfamser, rydyn ni’n hapus i ailddechrau rannu rhai o uchafbwyntiau ein dogfennau!
This is our first month with our entire collection completely ‘moved in’. We’ll share the full story of how we went about the ‘big move’ soon, but in the meantime, we’re happy to get back to sharing some of our document highlights once again!
