We help thousands of people each year across Wales who are affected by the housing emergency by offering free, confidential and independent advice. We exist to defend the right to a safe home and fight the devastating impact the housing emergency has on people and society.

We have a handful of spaces that have become available for the Cardiff Half Marathon - if you would like to join , now's your chance! Taking place on Sunday 4th October, the Cardiff Half Marathon is a brilliant event, full of fantastic local support giving participants the opportunity to run past some of the most iconic landmarks in Wales' beautiful capital city.

What a wonderful day we had at the Summer Faye at Eagles Meadow Shopping Centre in Wrexham last weekend - we couldn't have asked for better weather and the support we had from the local community was amazing.

With super stall holders, fun games and fantastic live music, this was a day to remember - we had such a great time! Thank you to The Hive Wrecsam , Wrexfest and Eagles Meadow for your support and collaboration and to AB Photography for the brilliant photos. And of course, a huge thank you to the people of Wrexham for coming out and supporting!

Following yesterday’s announcement on rough sleeping in England, our CEO, Ruth Power, spoke to the BBC about the situation in Wales and the support already available to people experiencing street homelessness here.

She also highlighted the importance of organisations like Shelter Cymru in ensuring access to free, independent, expert advice to ensure people can exercise the rights they have.

We know that understanding what the housing emergency in Wales is can be a difficult topic, particularly for young people, which is why we’ve been so pleased to partner with Jess Webb and Michael Sheen on their vital new children’s book ‘A Home for Spark the Dragon’.

Last week, at the Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Cymru , we also had the opportunity to host a brilliant discussion on the book with Manon Steffan Ros who adapted the book into Welsh, ensuring it can reach the widest possible audience.
