Swansea Bay Fisheries Local Action Group

Swansea Bay Fisheries Local Action Group The Swansea Bay Fisheries Local Action Group (SBFLAG) was originally established as a local partnership in April 2012.

The Swansea Bay Fisheries Local Action Group (SBFLAG) was originally established as a local partnership in April 2012 in response to the opportunities opened up through Axis 4 of the European Fisheries Fund 2007-2013. The new 2014-20 FLAG incorporates Burry Port and will seek to build on the success of the previous programme, benefitting from the networks and relationships built with industry and

community stakeholders in order to drive balanced and sustainable growth for the industry. Our Vision - By 2020 we want to see successful, sustainable, economically viable local fishing and associated industries, aware of its heritage, and well equipped to meet current and future challenges.

🌊 Swansea's historic waterways could soon be buzzing with life again! A bold new plan backed by Swansea University charts a 35-mile blue/green corridor from Clydach to Port Tennant, reconnecting the River Tawe with the city’s industrial roots. Think paddleboarding, walking trails, and canal cruises—all within reach.

This Native Oyster Restoration Plan aims to provide a founding basis for the implementation of a native oyster restoration project for Swansea Bay. It is expected that this documented Plan will evolve and develop over time as the proposed recommendations and actions are progressed.
