Welsh Trade Unionist and Socialist candidates stand for:
Democratic public ownership.
A future for young people without debt, war or climate disaster.
A united fight for jobs, homes and services to combat racism and division.
At the Swansea city of sanctuary hustings, our TUSC candidate said:
When Labour’s Shabana Mahmood, egged on by Reform UK, demonises and clamps down on the right to asylum, the Welsh Government should robustly resist, and demand additional powers. Instead - as in so many instances - the resistance takes the form of a polite letter.
Anti-migrant rhetoric is shameful divide and rule from Starmer’s Labour is a cover for 16 years of austerity, loyally implemented by the Welsh Government and by every major political party in local government. It allows Reform UK to falsely pose as anti-establishment. But this can be cut across.
Welsh TUSC will be the only party on the ballot in our constituencies standing on the democratically decided policies of 400,000 trade unionists in Wales, to refuse to pass on cuts to services, and instead to lead a united fight for a needs budget, demanding that money back from Westminster. We have the wealth in this country, but it sits in the hands of the super rich.
Refugees are welcome here - not at the mercy of slum private landlords, not crammed in hotels, without privacy, not as super-exploited cheap workers - but living in communities, with good jobs, with rights, with homes and services just like everyone else. We’re stronger together, and that’s what we’re fighting for.
