🎉 Huge congratulations to our Chemistry Quiz Team! 🧪
After successfully making it through the South West Wales competition back in December, the team went on to represent us at the Welsh national finals — and we are absolutely thrilled to share that one of our teams won the national competition! 🏆

The Top of the Bench competition is run in association with Swansea, Bangor and Cardiff Universities, along with the Royal Society of Chemistry, and it’s a fantastic achievement to come out on top at a national level.

We would like to thank all team members for their dedication, hard work and commitment over the past year, and congratulate the winning team on this outstanding accomplishment. A special thank you also goes to the Chemistry Department at Swansea University for organising and hosting such a brilliant event. 👏✨

🌿 Recently, our Criw Cymraeg and Eco-Club pupils enjoyed a visit to the beautiful local Copley Woods. Community councillor Clive Scott kindly gave the children a guided tour of the site, where they explored the area and began photographing and identifying the wide variety of species living there. 📸🍃
This exciting visit marks the beginning of a fantastic opportunity for our pupils to become involved in the woodland regeneration project in the near future. We are looking forward to seeing them play an active role in helping care for and protect this valuable local environment for generations to come. 🌱💚

AI Awareness' session for parents and carers on 28th April. This session will be led by Jon Parker from Gower College Swansea and aims to 'demystify artificial intelligence', explain how it is currently being used within education, and explore the ways in which it can serve as a positive and practical support for pupils and parents/carers.

Prom Swap Shop Launch – You’re Invited! 👗🤵✨
We’re excited to welcome all Bishopston Comprehensive School Year 10 & 11 pupils and their parents/carers to our brand‑new Prom Swap Shop Launch Evening on Monday 23rd March 2026, from 4:00pm–5:30pm.

This new initiative was created with our pupils, inspired by Pupil Voice to make prom more sustainable, inclusive, and affordable for everyone. 💚

🌟 What to Expect:
✔️ Browse a stunning collection of donated prom dresses, suits, shoes & accessories
✔️ Explore sustainable outfit options in a relaxed, supportive environment
✔️ Enjoy free live demonstrations from professional artists sharing tips for hair, makeup & styling
✔️ Get inspired, get excited — and get a preview of what will be available to borrow later!

🔍 Please Note:
This is a preview event — outfits can’t be borrowed or taken home on the night. The full borrowing service will open soon!

🎁 Donations Welcome:
We’re continuing to collect high‑quality prom attire to grow our Swap Shop. All contributions help us support more pupils and build a fantastic community resource.

A huge thank you to Careers Wales for delivering two exciting and inspiring sessions on careers in podcasting and photography. 🎙️📸

Our year 9 and 10 pupils learned about the skills behind both industries and then put them into practice—developing their own podcast ideas and taking part in a hands‑on photoshoot. 🎥

A fantastic experience that really sparked their creativity. A huge thank you to Careers Wales for delivering such an inspiring session! 💚
