🏠 Tenant survey reveals top housing priorities 📋

Earlier this year, we asked our housing tenants to share their views on home improvements - thank you to the 576 of you that responded!

Your top three priorities were:
✨ Kitchen replacement
✨ Bathroom replacement
✨ Double glazing

Other popular requests included heating upgrades, insulation, renewable energy like solar PV, and roof replacements.

We’re using this feedback to guide our improvement works, including projects under the Decent Homes scheme, recent energy efficiency upgrades in Hilton, and new-build homes in Chellaston.

Thank you to everyone who took part - your input is helping us shape the future of our housing stock. 💚

The Housing Roadshow will be in Etwall next Wednesday (2nd July)

There will be support and advice on offer from Careline, Housing Officers, Repairs Team, Leisure Services, South Derbyshire Safer and more. You can ask questions and get advice or find out more about getting involved with our Tenant Voices Group who work with us to inform decision making for tenants.

And for the little ones, there will be a bouncy castle, face painting and an ice cream van!

The Roadshow is at Etwall Village Hall (Frank Wickham Hall), Eggington Road, Etwall, DE65 6JE from 1pm to 4pm on Wednesday 2nd July - come along and find out more about how our services can support you!

Due to street being closed off for road works, residents in Stanier Drive, Hartshorne did not have their green and brown bins collected today.

Residents are advised to leave their recycling bins out and we will return as soon as the road is accessible.

Important Update for Council House tenants

Under the Right to Buy scheme, you can buy your Council House. If you meet the eligibility criteria you can purchase it at a price lower than the full market value. This is referred to as the Right to Buy Discount. This discount is dependent on the length of time you have spent as an eligible tenant.

The maximum Right to Buy Discount is currently £102,400. Following Central Government’s review, the maximum Right to Buy Discount will be reduced to between £16,000 - £38,000 for Right to Buy applications received by the Council after 21 November 2024.

Right to Buy applications received by the Council before 21 November 2024, from eligible tenants, will be eligible for the current Right to Buy Discount.
