We’re proud to support Sunderland’s own Jill Scott - JS8 as she takes on Jill Scott's Coming Home Challenge for Sport Relief 💛

From Monday 8 to Friday 12 June, Jill will be running and cycling an incredible 388 miles from Wembley Stadium back to Sunderland, finishing at the Stadium of Light 🏃‍♀️🚴‍♀️

This inspiring challenge is all about giving back – raising money for Sport Relief-funded projects that use sport to help people feel safe, supported and connected when they need it most.

We’d love to see communities across Sunderland get behind her. Whether you’re following her journey, sharing your support or heading out to cheer her on, every bit of encouragement helps create a special homecoming 🎉

Year 2 enjoyed a wonderful trip to the library today!

They explored the important value of empathy by listening to two stories: The Ugly Five and Strictly No Elephants.

These stories helped the children understand how others feel and why it is important to be kind, understanding and inclusive. Afterward, the got creative and designed their own empathy hearts.

WE DID IT! We sailed the Mackem Sea and traveled all across Sunderland. From Houghton to Washington and then at the City Centre at Sunderland Museum and Wintergardens!!!!

In this role (part time, 25 hpw), you’ll lead on the day-to-day administration and optimisation of key digital systems – from ticketing and website content to event scheduling and customer engagement – helping to create a seamless and high quality digital experience.

You’ll also support systems across Culture House and our wider Creative Smart City Hub Library services, working with teams to keep everything running smoothly.
