The following is from the Spring 2026 edition of the Studley Parish Newsletter :
STUDLEY NATURE RESERVE – HELP NEEDED
Our local nature reserve is rich in wildlife, with several locally rare species, and it provides a valuable space for walking and enjoying nature. As well as being a designated Local Wildlife Site, it is an important part of the ever-decreasing Green Belt between our village and Redditch. In a recent survey, 97% of respondents showed their appreciation of the nature reserve by voting for Studley Parish Council to negotiate a new lease for the site. Studley Parish Council are now in discussions with Stratford District Council and working towards agreeing a new 7 year lease.
To ensure that the nature reserve is well managed in the years ahead we will require continued support from the Parish Council and regular assistance from volunteers. We have a small group of dedicated volunteers who meet up on the second Sunday of every month to undertake conservation work, such as cutting back brambles and scrub, but more help would be warmly welcomed.
There is a wide range of jobs that new volunteers could help with. As well as those already mentioned, we could add sowing and managing wildflower plots, wildlife surveys, making nest boxes, litter-picking and fundraising. Whatever skills you have, we can probably find a job for you!
