A special service is taking place in Trafford this weekend to pay tribute to the brave servicemen and women who fought in the Battle of Britain.

Trafford Council is hosting the event at Sale Town Hall this Sunday at 10.30 to mark the anniversary of the battle.

Trafford Council is proud to support the veteran and Armed Forces community through its Armed Forces Covenant, reflecting its EPIC values by recognising service, promoting inclusion, and honouring those who have served.

Tomorrow, 1–5pm, we’re opening up the building for Heritage Open Day — with tours of the clock tower and basement, family crafts, a talk from John Rylands Library, audio stories, heritage stalls, and a chance to record your own memories of the Hall.

Essential carriageway resurfacing works on A56 Chester Road Junction with M60.

All slip roads onto M60 Junction 7 will be closed, with lane closures on the A56, from 19:00 until 06:00, starting Monday 17th August.
