♻️ BIN COLLECTION UPDATE (24–25 June)

☀️ Due to the hot weather, our bin crews will be starting their rounds earlier than usual on Wednesday 24 and Thursday 25 June.

👉 Please help us empty your bins by putting them out by 5:30am at the latest.

✅ Better still, put them out the night before

This temporary change helps our crews to work safely in cooler conditions.

🙏 Thank you for your cooperation and for helping keep our crews safe in this hot weather.

Stretford was heaving this afternoon!

Jane and Tom visited GRUB earlier and saw how busy the town centre was. A welcome new addition.

Great to see a healthy new tree growing out of Tom’s head too🌳

We write to update you with regard to the fire at the Robin Hood Hotel in Stretford. The police service was dispatched to the location after receiving a call at 21:59 hours. GMFRS were already in attendance when officers arrived. The now derelict public house was on fire. Due to the scale of the GMFRS response and the ongoing risk to highways management a series of road closures were put in place. The fire was subdued and searches of the premises concluded that there were no persons present when the fire started and therefore no risk to life.

The police are appealing for witnesses or any information about last night’s incident – anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage that could assist our investigation should contact GMP on 101 quoting log 3908 of 15/01/2026

You can also report information via Greater Manchester Police Live Chat on their website or through the independent charity Crimestoppers - anonymously - on 0800 555 111.
