As we come in to September we can update you on what happened in August!

The month of August was our busiest month with the station being mobilised to a total of 41 incidents, ranging from Standby cover moves, wildfires, Car fires and RTCs! But the most noticeable mobilisation for the station was being sent to assist our colleagues in South wales with wildfire incidents πŸ”₯ πŸš’

A huge thank you to our families that we leave behind in order to attend these incidents, your support is always appreciated by us all β€οΈπŸš’

As we look forward to September another reminder that our fire station open day is on Saturday 19th September! We look forward to seeing you all πŸš’πŸ”₯πŸ‘¨β€πŸš’πŸ‘©β€πŸš’

Does the community still want Street Football Club? πŸ’š

That’s the question we need to answer.

With so many community spaces, pubs & clubs closing, does such a big community venue fit with what society wants?

And we want to be absolutely clear β€” this is not about money.
We have a vision and strategy that can make Street FC financially stable and give the club a really positive future.

What we don’t have is enough people to help us make that happen.

The directors are completely committed to Street FC.They care hugely about this club and what it provides to the community. But the simple reality is that it isn’t possible for the number of people we currently have to keep doing everything that needs to be done.

Grassroots sport is built on volunteers. It always has been.

We aren’t asking people to give up every weekend or take on a massive commitment. We need people who can give a couple of hours a week, take on a specific role, or help at one or two events a year.

There are lots of ways to get involved:

⚽ Matchday support
🦺 Stewarding
πŸ”§ Maintenance
🎟️ Raffles & fundraising
πŸ”₯ BBQs
β˜• CafΓ© support
πŸŽ‰ Event organising & delivery
πŸ“± Social media
πŸ’» Website & programme
πŸ§’ Youth coaching & team support
πŸ›‘οΈ Welfare Officer β€” an important role with an honorarium
πŸ“‹ Administration and club roles

We are always encouraging people to take on senior roles, add to our board & management team to shape the future if they want to & can.

And there are benefits to volunteering too β€” you’ll become part of the club, receive club benefits, match day entry and, most importantly, be part of something pretty special too.

The question is: does the community still want Street Football Club?

If the answer is yes, then we need you.

Come along. Hear the vision. Understand what is needed. Find something you can do.

Street FC belongs to the community.
Now the community needs to decide if it wants to keep it. πŸ’š

A crew from Street have just been mobilised on the pump to assist with a wildfire in South Wales! It continues our very busy spell that has seen the station mobilised nearly 70 times since the start of July and in to August πŸ”₯πŸš’πŸ‘¨β€πŸš’πŸ§― we are now on 190 shouts for 2026!

Please remember not to discard ci******es incorrectly, do not use disposable BBQs and please respect the outdoors!! All of the ground is severely dry and with the continued dry weather the smallest heat source can cause a major incident!! πŸ”₯πŸš’
