You may have spotted the post about some great work recovering a motorbike over on the Shipston Police Safer Neighbourhood Team - we thought we'd share it again here!

We recovered a stolen bike in Meon Vale after a concerned member of the community reported seeing it being ridden antisocially by three boys in masks.

At 8:17am on 8 September, we received a report of three boys on a motorcycle driving erratically on Bailey Avenue before making off from the area.

The bike (which had been reported stolen) was discovered in a back garden on Chatham Road at 10:06am.

The suspected riders were identified and are under investigation for Taking Without Owners Consent.

The bike has been returned to the owner, and the three suspects have been referred to the youth offending team.

Thanks to all who shared our CCTV appeal yesterday to identify a man who we believe could assist us with our enquiries into a report of a robbery.

He is now assisting us with our enquiries.

Catching suspects is always better with friends.

On Sunday, we got word of a car coming into the county near the M40.

It was linked to a robbery of £15,000 worth of goods in the Cotswolds, and our colleagues in West Mercia Police were keen to get their hands on the culprits.

Our Stratford Safer Neighbourhood Team linked in with the town’s CCTV and BID wardens as well as the security at the Maybird Shopping Centre to let them know they were heading their way and to keep an eye out.

Sure enough, at just past 11am, the car’s registration was spotted on the cameras for the Maybird, and joint efforts from the CCTV operators and the BID wardens told us exactly where they had parked up.

Our officers moved in and shortly afterwards arrested an 18-year-old man and a 20-year-old man from Birmingham on suspicion of robbery, and one 22-year-old woman from Birmingham for failing to appear in court for shop theft offences.

We also seized the car, as there’s a good chance it’s been involved in other offences on neighbouring force areas.

Warwickshire is a great stopping-off point for anyone travelling around the country – and we’re always happy to roll out the welcome wagon for anyone who thinks they can use us as an escape route.

There is reports to be two dogs Police have currently seen one and are with the dog (it is in a field, keeps trying to run out)

We've been out on foot patrol in Stratford this afternoon, visiting local businesses and patrolling anti-social behaviour hot spots as part of Op Resolve. We also had time to stop and speak to some local residents about their policing priorities for the town, make some new four-legged friends and hear what some of the town's tourists have planned for the evening.

On that note, that's it for our Stratford District Takeover day - we hope you've found it interesting to see what some of our other teams across the area have been up to as well, time to hand over to the night shift 🌙

A couple of weeks ago we held an event to raise awareness of the risks associated with climbing buildings and exploring other structures. While climbing can look fun and harmless from the ground, the reality is that a fall from height can have life-changing consequences. The aim was to encourage young people to think about the risks, make safe choices, and understand that no social media post, dare, or shortcut is worth risking a serious injury.

To help get that message across, we gave people the opportunity to tackle a climbing wall and a mobile cave in a safe and controlled environment. It was great to see so many people getting involved, testing their skills, and discovering that climbing and caving are a lot more fun when there are trained professionals on hand.
We hope those brave enough to tackle the climbing wall made it to the top, and for those who didn't quite conquer Everest today, there's always next time. The cave was also a huge success, although, we're still not entirely convinced some of the younger visitors ever wanted to come back out.

We'd like to say a massive thank you to our partner agencies for supporting the event and helping make the day such a success, and we're looking forward to holding similar events again in the future:

It's not just Safer Neighbourhood Team officers based at Stratford, we also have Response officers available 24hrs a day, 7 days a week, all year round. These are the officers you see responding to emergencies and 999 calls, dealing with reports of crimes in progress, never quite sure what the next incident may be until they arrive.
