Stratford on Avon MP Manuela Perteghella is demanding that Andy Burnham make the radical overhaul of the broken water industry one of his first acts as Prime Minister.

I am proper upset that Reform led Warwickshire County Council (in fact by Portfolio Holder Cllr Briggs - representing a division in North Warwickshire - propped up by his Reform colleagues and a Conservative councillor) closed down Great Alne Primary School in South Warwickshire and in our constituency. Despite the thousands of houses proposed to be built.

Cllr Briggs is the same councillor who insulted the whole of the LGBTQ community with his disgusting comments which frankly are fostering hate. They have done already too much damage.
I am campaigning together with my Liberal Democrat colleagues Cllr James Norris and Cllr Tom Ballinger to keep the school building as an educational asset, perhaps as SEND provision for local children and young people.

“Today’s government U-turn on reorganising local councils in Warwickshire has destroyed confidence in the whole process,” says Susan Juned, Liberal Democrat Leader of Stratford-on- Avon District Council (SDC). “This embarrassing and chaotic climbdown has already wasted huge sums of money and has serious implications for the services provided to the residents of Stratford District.”

💧Earlier this week I met with
Shipston Area Flood Action Group (SAFAG), a brilliant community led volunteer group which aims to reduce the risk of flooding to homes and businesses through Natural Flood measures across the entire catchment of the River Stour in Warwickshire and beyond. The group has installed over 700 wooden dams and created ponds to slow the flow from tributaries into the Stour during periods of heavy rainfall. The meeting was also attended by representatives of Shipston Town Council and Save our Shipston, which is driving the campaign Say No to additional 3000+ houses
