As some of you may know, the pond is being taken over by John since I'm going back to college. The first thing I want to do is wish John the best of luck with running the pond and thank him for helping me the past few weeks. The second thing I would like to do is thank my wonderful team Brendan, Aiden and Eloise for their fabulous hard work, I couldn't have done it without you all. Thirdly I would like to thank Charlie Ramsay for supplying us with starfish, sea urchins, lobsters and a crawfish as well as Steve for fishing for the pond and for all his information about the creatures we have. I would also like to thank Sue for giving me the job and for all her knowledge and support during my time at the pond. Finally I would like to thank all the wonderful visitors I have met over the summer who have made looking after the pond so memorable. I will still be working at the pond (I don't think I could walk away from the place even if I tried) and hope to create even more memories of working with wonderful people and sealife. Thank you all again and good luck to John.

A few days ago we discovered that we still have a conger eel in the pond from last year, we would like to name him and would love for the public to choose a name. Please comment your name ideas.

I had a wonderful surprise this morning when I came down to open the pond. I found that the swallows that have been nesting in the cave have fledged this morning.

Unfortunately the pond will be closing at 3.30pm on the 27th and 29th of June. Apart from those days we are open 10-5 as usual

So the past few days we have had trouble with algae in the pond which makes the water very murky and difficult to see the fish, the tides haven't been high enough to flood the pond to clear it. This morning we were finally able to flood to try and improve the water quality.
