1331 Stowmarket Sqn ATC Offering Flying, Gliding, shooting and more to Young people in the Stowmarket area as part of the Air

This week, 8 of our cadets attended Camp Saxon. This fun filled week consisted of 3 streams: AT, Astra and Military Skills.

Everyone came home with lots of blue, bronze and silver badges and awards for various different things such as leadership, radio, first aid, fieldcraft and also discovery awards for adventure training.

Everyone had a brilliant week and we hope to be back next year! Thank you to all of the staff involved who arranged this camp and allowing it to go ahead to give the cadets such a good experience.

Today, 11 of our cadets went to the Wattisham Station Heritage Museum. They were all given the opportunity to look around numerous aircrafts and even a chance to sit in the cockpit of a Phantom, as well as having a look around the museum itself and hearing interesting historical stories about the people who lived in the nearby area and their own families experiences.

Thank you to the staff involved and for taking the cadets to the museum, we hope to return again in the future!

On Saturday 28th March, 8 cadets attended the annual Sector 1 Field Competition at MOD Woodbridge along with 5 other Squadrons from the sector.

They competed in activities to gain points for the Squadron. The activities included: first aid, fieldcraft, archery, a navigation exercise, leadership and aircraft recognition.

Well done to the 8 cadets who put in a huge amount of effort and teamwork whilst also having lots of fun. Thank you to all the staff involved the cadets had an amazing day and gained lots of experience from it too.
