🚯We have been working with highways contractor, Triplex, to litter pick rubbish from junctions 46, 47 and 49 of the A14.

🗑️From 10-12 June, a crew worked overnight and collected 98 bags of rubbish that collectively weighed a staggering 1,013kg!

Rubbish collected included lengths of dumped fridge, eleven tyres, wooden fencing, and a variety of other discarded litter.

We’re continuing to work closely with partners including National Highways and Suffolk County Council Suffolk Highways to coordinate further safe litter picking along the A14.

💚We are grateful to volunteers who have been taking pride in their community and picking litter but continue to urge people to only do this where it is safe and not on fast roads.

If you spot anyone littering on the roadside, please report it.

Fives all round!

😍 Here are some of our local businesses who achieved their 5 food hygiene rating back in April (keep your eyes peeled for May and June's businesses soon)

From restaurants to cafes, pubs to takeouts, butchers to schools and everything in between, we're proud of all the local food
businesses in our district achieving top hygiene ratings 👀♥️

Congrats 🥳 🎉 and 👏 keep up the great work!

Don't forget to display your rating:
✅at the front of your store
✅on your website
✅on your social media (we suggest pinning your post to the top of your page)

🍽️ Remember to always check the food hygiene rating on the Food Standards Agency website before eating out

Say hello to Tedd and Tom - they're part of one of our 16 dedicated food waste crews carrying out your weekly collections in Babergh and Mid Suffolk

Last week alone, we collected 116 tonnes from your caddies across Babergh and Mid Suffolk🍌

Did you know our food waste crews and vehicles alone:
♻️ travel around 9,000 miles a week?
♻️ collect over 20,000 caddies a day and over 100,000 a week?
♻️ are powered by either electric or low-emission hydrotreated vegetable oil?
♻️ send your food waste to be turned into biofuel and a biofertiliser at these anaerobic digestion factilities:
Biogen in Halstead, Essex
and
BioteCH4 in March, Cambridgeshire?

Thank you for your patience in bearing with our crews while they learn their rounds and support residents with queries while out on the road 🚛

If there's a delay to your collection, which you can check on our website (via the link in the comments), please continue to leave your bin out with the handle locked upright to secure it and we'll get to you as soon as we can
