🏉 P4 and P5 Rugby block - starting Thursday 10th September

After discussion with Robert Hunter, we have decided to open up the P5 after school rugby block to all new P4s. This block will now start from Thursday next week - 10th September - down at Gala RFC and will run over 4 weeks:

10th September
17th September
24th September
1st October

We would love to see as many P4 and P5 pupils who are not yet members of the Mini Maroons Galashiels coming along to this block and giving rugby a try!

🏉 P5 Rugby opportunity 🏉

Robert Hunter, the YDO for Gala Rugby is offering all P5 pupils in Galashiels the chance to go along to Netherdale on Thursday afternoons over 4 weeks in September to give the sport a go and consider if they would like to get involved with the Mini Maroons Galashiels

The sessions are running 4.15pm to 5.15pm on the grass pitch immediately behind Gala Rugby Club on the following 4 Thursdays:

3rd September
10th September
17th September
24th September

No cost to attend and all pupils need is suitable sports clothes for the weather conditions and a drink. Pupils can take part in trainers or boots.

🌟 Exciting News from Stow ELC! 🌟

We are delighted to announce that Stow ELC has achieved the STEM Nation Award! 🏆🔬🧪🚀

This award recognises our commitment to providing engaging STEM learning experiences and encouraging our children to explore, investigate, create and problem-solve.

A huge well done to our wonderful children and ELC team for this fantastic achievement. We are incredibly proud of you all! 👏💙

Primary and Secondary Judo taster block opportunities!

Focus Judo are offering all primary and secondary aged pupils in Galashiels the chance to go along to their sessions on Monday evenings over 4 weeks in September to give the sport a go alongside existing members and consider if they would like to become a member too.

Session times are as follows:
P1 to P3 = 6pm to 6.45pm
P4 to P7 = 7pm to 8pm
S1 to S6 = 8pm to 9pm

All sessions taking place at the Focus Centre (TD1 1DQ).

The dates are:
7th September
14th September
21st September
28th September

The sessions are FREE to attend and all pupils need are leggings/jogging bottoms, a t-shirt and a drink.

🤩🏉 Training is back! 🏉 🤩

We’re excited to kick off the new season on Sunday 23rd August and welcome all of our Mini Maroons back to training.

New players are very welcome too. Children from ELC4 to P7 can come along, have fun, make new friends, and give rugby a try, no experience needed.

We are particularly looking for P5 children to come along, give rugby a try and join our fantastic P5 team 🦊

Numbers are currently low, so we’d love to welcome some new faces along to help build our P5 squad.

⚽ Club football opportunity for new P1 pupils ⚽

Gala Fairydean Rovers Academy are opening their doors this coming Friday afternoon, 3pm to 4pm, to all new P1 pupils who would like to go along and get involved in some football training with their club coaches!

No previous football experience is required, just energy and enthusiasm!

If you would like your child to be involved then bring them along to the 3G Arena, Netherdale (TD1 3DL) this coming Friday for 2.50pm and the coaches will get them involved.
