A huge thank you to Amber Strickland and the team at Gowling WLG UK

We purchased an expensive solar panel battery pack from Jackery that didn't work. This was replaced with a further one that failed within several months.

Having lost confidence in the product and company we did not want a third replacement which could have also failed. They refused a full cash refund which was where Gowling stepped in.

Their expertise and persistence have made a meaningful difference and we are immensely grateful for their pro bono support. Their professionalism and commitment was reflected in the outcome of a full refund.

We are truly grateful for the help of Amber and the team at Gowling. Thank you!

We have had the pleasure of a very special performance this week. World renowned harpist Maximilian Ehrhardt https://maximilianehrhardt.com/ played the most spell binding pieces for over an hour to our team of guys, staff and volunteers. The performance was intimate, enthralling and incredibly beautiful. Maximilian also provided us with some background and history to harp playing and answered many questions. We are so grateful that he did this and we are hoping he will visit soon and perform to a much larger audience.

We have some very talented volunteers and supporters of the project...

A huge thank you to Richard Catchpowle who, along with Rob and the guys, installed a fabulous fibreglass roof on our waterless toilet, replacing the rather insubstantial one.

Also, Quinn Bytheway, who capped our oak roundhouse with a lead apex and flashing around the flue. Quinn is from the old school of plumbing, those who used to also do leadwork on roofs. He has recently redone the lead dome on the historic Woodside Library, now at the Black Country The Black Country Living Museum

Quinn has also cast a Riverside House logo in lead that will sit on top of the roundhouse.

I have never really used AI before, but this was interesting and perhaps not too far off. Having only these couple of, very low resolution, images to go on, I had an attempt by typing in:

It's taken years to get to this point but finally we are tentatively beginning work on the restoration of Riverside House itself. We started this week with cutting back the ivy and carefully removing any loose brickwork. We are also applying for funding to pay for necessary surveys for Listed Building Consent and subsequent restoration of the exterior of the house. Once this is underway we will be looking at further funding for an architect and team to remodel the inside.
