BFI Film Academy - Meet the Team!

Introducing the brilliant Alasdair Satchel from the Isle of Mull!

Alasdair is a freelance filmmaker and has delivered Understanding Cinema, an acclaimed film education project, for the last 7 years. The project sees Alasdair interpreting and delivering training from the Cinémathèque Française in Scotland. He is also a lead practitioner with Scottish Screen and has delivered film education work throughout the county for Into Film.

As one of our lead practitioners, our BFI Film Academy Students will work with Alasdair throughout the week developing ideas and learning new skills through masterclasses in scriptwriting, storyboarding, sound and other film fundamentals.

HebFlicks @ Liniclate Library will be showing Swimming with Men starring Rob Brydon on Thursday 30th January 2020 at 6.30pm - When accountant Eric (Brydon) seeks to win back his wife Heather (Horrocks), he stumbles upon a solution in the form of a male synchronised swimming team: Men Who Swim. Joining his local team, Eric finds brotherhood in this crew as they train for the World Championships in Milan.
