LAST DAY FOR TENDER APPLICATIONS!
CONSERVATION CONTRACTORS WANTED – STOKE ON TRENT
Re-Form Heritage is inviting quotes for Phase 1 of the Centenary Restoration Fund (CRF).
We’re looking for experienced contractors to carry out conservation repair works to 8 small historic monuments across Stoke on Trent. Typical works include:
• cleaning
• redecoration
• repointing
Contractors can quote for one, several, or all monuments
This phase forms part of a wider programme with a total budget of £146,000
Works are expected to take place June–October 2026
How tenders will be assessed:
• Quality (60%) – experience, approach and quality of response
• Cost (40%)
Mandatory checks (including proof of insurance and financial standing) apply.
Deadline: Wednesday, 20 May 2026

BETHESDA CHAPEL UPDATE
Thanks to Historic England grant-funding, specialist conservation contractors have been hard at work repairing the interior of Bethesda Chapel, which had deteriorated following closure in 1985. Since the work was commissioned less than 6 months ago, walls have been lime plastered, timber panelling reinstated, staircases and the east entrance lobby repaired, and the first phase of installing a heating system is also underway – its an amazing achievement and wonderful to see this beautiful building start to come back to life.
Re-Form Heritage ultimately aims to regenerate Bethesda Chapel as a mixed-use space, housing specialist arts educator, Pinc College, alongside exhibition/performance and heritage interpretations space. These repair works are a significant step forward in realising that aim, allowing increased public access and a greater variety of use.
