Hi everyone,

My name is Neil, and I’ve had the privilege of working with ASM Sports for 11 years and DNA FC for the past 5 years.

In May 2025, my partner Joanne was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) after experiencing symptoms for several months. MND is a devastating disease that has completely changed our lives and the lives of our families.

Today, Joanne faces incredible challenges every day, including:

🔹 No mobility
🔹 No ability to speak
🔹 Communication through eye-gaze technology
🔹 Assisted breathing via a tracheostomy
🔹 Oxygen support on certain days
🔹 Regular chest infections, including pneumonia
🔹 Receiving food and fluids through a PEG tube
🔹 Significant complications affecting her heart, intestines and stomach
🔹 Episodes of dangerously high blood pressure and heart rate

Throughout this journey, the MND Association has provided our family with outstanding support. They are helping to fund Joanne’s care home placement, where she receives specialist care, including a dedicated 1-to-1 nurse who assists with her breathing, cough management and essential daily care.

As a family, we want to give something back to this amazing charity that has helped us so much.

This time last week we enjoyed a day up The Roaches. We enjoyed a walk in the morning along the ridge and then in the afternoon we scrambled across the rocks, showing some great climbing skills and some agility when squeezing through some tiny gaps. The evening activity was a singalong camp fire. It was a lovely day and thankfully slightly cooler than today!

📕 This morning, The Valley had a visit from Terry. Terry works for the Staffordshire Library Service and came to talk to us about the Summer Reading Challenge. The children were very excited and lots are very interesting in taking part.

🪏🌳✨What a special afternoon we had yesterday!✨🌳🪏

☀️The official opening of our Wildlife Garden was a huge success and we were blown away with your support. Thank you to each and every one of you for joining us. The sun shone too! ☀️

✨A great big thank you to Henry and Henrietta Hound who officially opened our garden and made a surprise appearance for our children. ✨

✨☀️Have a wonderful half term break. We look forward to welcoming our children back on Tuesday 2nd June. 😊

🌳Oak Class have had an amazing time designing and constructing their kites over this half term.

This afternoon they took them for a test flight.

All the children worked incredibly hard and showed real determination when they found things tricky.

🪏🪴On Wednesday we had so much fun at Gardening Club!

🌺 The children worked together to w**d our garden ready for our official opening on Friday. They planted some bedding plants to make it more colourful and collected more sticks to add to the ‘Minibeast Mansion.’
