Stoke-on-Trent City Council's cabinet member for children's services, Cllr Sarah Jane Colclough has welcomed the government's £1.3 million investment in new youth hubs for the city:

“This is great news for Stoke-on-Trent and, most importantly, for young people in our city
“Young people need safe places to go, positive things to do and people they can trust and talk to. They also need the right support when they are struggling with their mental health, looking for work or facing other challenges in their lives.

“We want young people in Stoke-on-Trent to have the opportunities and support they need to thrive and fulfil their potential.

“We already have a huge amount of good work happening across the city. This funding will help us build on that, bring services together and, importantly, work with young people themselves to make sure the new hubs provide the support and opportunities they need.”

Direct trains from Stoke-on-Trent to Manchester airport!

Good for holiday makers, good for tourism and good for business!

Last week, both Adam Jogee and I presented our petitions on the implementation of a Stoke-on-Trent to Manchester Airport rail link.

Today, we have received the news that our campaign has been successful and that a new direct train service linking Birmingham and Stoke-on-Trent with Manchester Airport will come online from May next year.

Thank you to everyone who signed my petition and for more information, please visit my website using the below link.

Brilliant news - following the hard work being done by Dr Allison Gardner MP to raise the issue of monkey dust up the Government agenda.

🚨BREAKING NEWS🚨After months of campaigning to the Home Office and following my work on the Synthetic Cathinones Task Force, I’m so pleased to see that the government has responded to the ACMD review into synthetic cathinones.

🔥 Happy Bottle Oven Day!

Today we remember a special moment in Longton and Stoke-on-Trent’s history. On 29 August 1978, the last traditional bottle oven in the Potteries was fired at the Hudson and Middleton potbank on Normacot Road, Longton - right here in my constituency.

At their peak, around 2,000 bottle ovens dominated the Potteries landscape, powering the industry that made Stoke-on-Trent famous around the world.

Since 2018, 29th August has been celebrated as Potteries Bottle Oven Day: a day to celebrate our incredible ceramic heritage and the people who built it. 🏺🔥

A proud part of Longton’s history that we must never forget.
