So, it's been a really busy week in the Council world.
On Tuesday myself Cllr Davies attended an invitation from Live Well be shown the work the combined services at Adswood Children's Centre carry out. It's safe to say we are very impressed with the hard work and dedication the staff have towards helping children from birth to be lead a healthy and fulfilled life.
This is done with a targeted government approach which is funded to the GM mayor and managed by Stockport MBC.
On Thursday it was Central Area Committee, were we discuss local issues such as Highway changes, listen to petitions and talk to local groups who bid for flexibility funding to help them contribute to the town.

We welcomed the new Liberal Democrat Councillor Alice Delemere to the committee.
Cllr Delemere asked for cross party working on the issue around the Garners Lane crossing, whilst it's her party in power that can provide or bid for funding (which we will keep asking for), I am more than happy to work together to get a solution on this, as residents rightly expect us to work do this.
We also discussed parking issues around Shaw Heath, especially on match days, and are happy to work cross party with our Liberal Democrat and Edgeley Community Association colleagues to get this done, although the issue seems to be worse since the Liberal Democrats intoduced car parking charges to Green Street car park, which we did warn as Labour Councillors would have a knock on effect .
I also have a horrible summer cold and am behind responding to Emails and am going to catch up today.
Have a good weekend.
