Carers Week 2026 & Signpost for carers drop in💜

This Carers Week, we want to recognise and thank the millions of unpaid carers who provide support to family members, friends and loved ones. Caring for someone can be rewarding, but it can also be challenging, and carers often put their own health and wellbeing last.

If you help someone who could not manage without your support due to illness, disability, frailty, mental health needs or addiction, you may be a carer.

We have Signpost for Carers at our North site on Thursday 11th June from 9.30-3pm with information about support available and ready to answer your questions! Please come along if you want more information😊

One week on 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️

We can't believe it's been one week since our amazing team of Signpost runners took on the Great Manchester Run!

Not only did our runners do a great job our cheer squad made up of staff, volunteers friends and family were placed along the route ready to screen for the neon green.

⭐Half term beach fun⭐

Our young carers took a trip to Thurstaston Beach this half term and spent the day exploring, walk and eating ice cream!

They also all took part in a little photography competition and as you can see got some amazing pictures to capture the day🏖

Some of our young carers have never got the chance to visit the seaside due to their caring responsibilities so trips out like this allow them to explore and enjoy something new.

Thank you to High Peak Comps for fitting a brand new defibrillator at The Heatons Centre - with us being in such a central location it's great for our local community 💚

Defib number 15 ❤️ I’m 5ft 9 at a push btw I was just stood at the top of the hill 😂

Signpost for Carers, another great location. Such a lovely team too, love working with these lot!

Thanks everyone for your nominations and best of luck on the next defib spin (a week Friday!) - we’re well on track to have installed 30 by the end of the year ❤️

As always, hope it’s never needed. But it’s there !

Did you know we have a closed Facebook group just for our Signpost Carers?

Our online volunteers support the running of this group with regular posts to help start conversations and provide a safe space for carers to chat to others who might understand their situation.

Did you know we have a team of volunteer student counsellors who support us in our wellbeing hub? This helps our counsellors see more carers to provide whatever therapeutic support they may need.

Overall our volunteers have support 246 different carers at 19 different events - we couldn't support as many carers as we do without their help.
