Special Constable’s from across Scotland participated in a continuous professional development day at the Scottish Police College, Tulliallan, with the focus being Systematic Search.

Learning, Training and Development staff designed and delivered the event, with representation from Police Scotland Edinburgh, Police Scotland Greater Glasgow, Police Scotland Forth Valley, Police Scotland Fife , Police Scotland North East and Police Scotland Lothians & Scottish Borders. 👮🏻

The officers were trained in building/premises search, which covered identifying the planning, entry, systematic search and exit procedures. 🏠

In the afternoon, the topic was vehicle searching, which introduces officers to the concept of team responsibilities and the systematic procedures for conducting a vehicle search. 🚙

On conclusion of the training, the officers took part in a practical exercise, which centred around the ex*****on of a search warrant, recovery of evidence and lodging of productions.

Special Constables are trained volunteer Police Officers who work alongside full time Police Officers, ensuring we keep local communities safe.

Police Scotland are recruiting Special Constables now. ➡️ https://orlo.uk/p2INA

Road Policing officers are appealing for information following a serious crash in Falkirk.

Around 1pm on Thursday, 4 June, 2026, we received a report of a crash involving a pedestrian and a black Audi TT on Kerse Lane.

Emergency services attended, and the pedestrian, a 62-year-old woman, was taken to hospital for treatment.

No other injuries were reported.

Inspector David Marr said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances, and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash and has yet to speak to officers to get in touch.

“I’d also ask that anyone in the area who has dash-cam footage review this to see if it has captured anything that could assist with our investigation.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1466 of 4 June, 2026.
