Cadets took part in the Great Tommy Sleep out, a nationwide challenge to raise awareness and funds for homeless ex-servicemen and women, by sleeping outside for the night at Fairlands Lakes.

We welcomed Stevenage Mayor,
Councillor Nazmin Chowdhury and Consort Kier Omar Williams, who were given the opportunity to see how camouflage cream was applied and how to set up bivi’s. Thank you for braving the chilly evening and coming to visit, and for wishing us well for the rest of the evening.

Cadets did so well braving the elements supporting a worthy cause, well done to all of you who took part!
Thank you to staff who gave up their time to also help supervise and support the event, hot brews were in abundance!

A big thanks also goes to Dennis at Sea Breeze Fish and Chip shop for a very welcome hot meal, went down a treat!

What a ‘flipping’ amazing night!

Sea Cadets and Royal Marines Cadets worked together this evening on three different methods of pancake mixes before cooking them on our makeshift cooking stations - they were then let loose on the toppings of their choice 🫣

All were edible and sampled by staff who were incredibly proud of all cadets, you all did very well!

Juniors will be making theirs this Wednesday, and Senior Junior Friday.

Pictures to follow!
