The Great Ashby Community Council was formed in 2011 to represent the people of the North Hertfordshire part of Great Ashby.

The Great Ashby Community Council has twelve elected members from across Great Ashby who are working to improve the area with community projects and by working with Hertfordshire County Council and North Hertfordshire District Council. We share borders with Stevenage Borough Council, Graveley Parish Council and Weston Parish Council.

The Great Ashby Community Council (GACC) is thrilled to announce the successful installation of a solar and wind powered cabinet, defibrillator and bleed kit at the District Park. GACC has long felt that Great Ashby would benefit from a second defibrillator to serve the needs of the Community, and in particular for it to be located in an area where a high volume of grassroots sports and exercise is carried out.

This has been a long-term project for GACC, led by Cllr Ian Brown. GACC would like to extend their thanks to the “Hearts for Herts” Charity whom we have been working with for many months, and to Cllr Steve Jarvis for his financial contribution from his Locality Fund.

GACC intend to have a formal opening day, where we can celebrate the installation and say a thank you to the many people that have made this positive outcome a reality. Please look out for the FB post advertising the date, and we hope to see many of you there.

GACC held its Annual Parish Meeting on Thursday 21st May. Please find attached a link to the Chairman's Report, outlining the work of GACC in the previous 12 months.

Residents are always very welcome and encouraged to come to GACC Full Council meetings; held on the third Thursday of each month at 1930 at the Community Centre. All meeting dates, Agendas and Minutes are posted to the GACC website.
