Steeton-with-Eastburn Parish Council

The Alder tree on Cornmill Green has been felled under the instruction of Steeton with Eastburn Parish Council as it was dying back. It has been monitored for the last 15 months and had to be removed for the safety of all people who use thee Green. Permission was granted by CBMDC to fell it as it is in a conservation area.

STEETON & EASTBURN LITTER PICK
There will be a Community Litter Pick taking place in Steeton and Eastburn on Sunday 27th April - meeting at the Steeton HUB for 10am and lasting until 12 noon. The project was initiated by a local resident, concerned at the level of litter in public places in the two villages, and is being organised by the Parish Council. Anyone interested in attending is asked to please email [email protected] or ring 07841 633230 so we can have a rough idea of numbers for the day. Those taking part need to be 16 years old or accompanied by an adult and are asked to wear appropriate footwear (e.g.no flip-flops or sliders) and to bring your own gloves. Litter pickers, hi-viz jackets and rubbish bags will be provided. When we return to the HUB tea/coffee and cake will be provided.

Path Closure at Steeton Bowling Green

The paths around the Steeton Bowling Green will be unfortunately have to be closed off from today until further notice, following a recent Health and Safety Audit Inspection which identified issues with the condition of the path edge. Given that estimates for rebuilding the entire edge of the paths and re-tarmacking is around £80,000, the Parish Council cannot afford to do the work in full for the foreseeable future. However, we are working with the Steeton & Eastburn Crown Green Bowling Club on a package of measures to put in place before the start of the 2025 Bowling season which would enable this much-loved community group to continue at the site for the 2025 Season, albeit with restricted access. Whilst we are aware that residents also use the path and benches, we apologise in advance for this facility not being available but obviously must put safety first.

POST OFFICE COUNTER AT STEETON HUB.

As the Hub is being redecorated during August, there will be no Post Office service on a Tuesday lunch time during the whole of August.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause but look forward to resuming the service in September.
