🔵Stanley Neighbourhood Policing Team – Weekly Update🔵
Your local Neighbourhood Policing Team has been out across Stanley this week, working to support the community and tackle local issues:
🚗PCSO Wilson attended Burnopfield Primary School with DCC Road Safety Team to talk to the whole school about the need for parents/carers to park safely near the school. Key Stage 2 children also had a presentation on the dangers and law around riding electric scooters (please see attached information on E-Scooters in photos)
🕵️♀️A vehicle which had been reported stolen from the Peterlee area was located in Stanley town centre. The vehicle was recovered. Enquiries are ongoing.
🔎This week our PCSOs have been obtaining CCTV and conducting house to house enquiries to gather vital evidence for ongoing investigations.
🚨Stanley NPT officers assisted traffic with a pursuit of a male who was driving a stolen motor vehicle. The male was arrested for dangerous driving, theft of motor vehicle and failing the roadside breath test.
👮♂️Officers responded to a theft in progress at Asda, Stanley. Two suspects were successfully arrested, and the stolen items recovered. One male was also wanted by Northumbria Police for offences in their area. Both have been charged and will attend court for sentencing.
🚔Officers assisted response officers with an incident of Affray in South Moor, two males were arrested for the offence. One male had assaulted three police officers.
🚒PCSO Dawson attended a multi-agency meeting with the Fire Brigade discussing deliberate secondary fires and tactics around reducing the number of incidents.
🚨3 prolific shoplifters have been charged and will appear in court. One shoplifter was also found in possession of controlled substances and has been reported for the offence.
🚓A vehicle was seized from the Tanfield area due to the driver having no licence or insurance. The driver has been reported for the offences.
🚨Safeguarding our community
Stanley NPT officers have attended an incident in the Hobson industrial estate where it was reported a man was using violence towards others and committing criminal damage. The suspect was swiftly located and arrested and found to be in possession of drugs. Enquiries are ongoing.
🕵️♀️We are currently investigating several reports of youth antisocial behaviour in Stanley Town Centre. We understand the impact this has on our retailers and the whole community and want to reassure residents and retailers that this behaviour will not be tolerated. Work is ongoing to identify those responsible.
