Our thoughts are with our colleagues in Northumbria Police who have lost one of their rising stars in the course of duty.
Every day people in policing put themselves in harms way to protect others. Sadly this young officer has made the ultimate sacrifice.
PC Jess Turnbull was just 19 years old. A huge loss to her family, friends and colleagues.

Age Without Limits Day will take today Wednesday 10th June 2026.

Age Without Limits Day is an annual day for us all to come together and take action to end ageism - as individuals, with friends and family, in our communities and in our workplaces.

6th June 1944 was D-day when many gave their lives and many more battled on to fight the N**i scourge.

With everything going on at the moment it is more important than ever to remember the sacrices made for our freedoms. People of many nations and colours came together to fight for freedom. We must recognise and respect that freedom, those who gave it us and those they gifted it to.

Privilege must not be abused to disadvantage others and liberty must not be taken for granted.
