The planting season is upon us again and we would like to once again invite local people to plant up Parish Council planters around the parish. We will be running our planters scheme again so that local people can claim up to ยฃ25 back from us for compost and plants if they provide their receipts. If you are interested please message me or email me at [email protected]. Thanks, Sue

Please remember to always pick up after your dog using poo bags and put it in one of the many local waste bins or take it home to your own bin. Dog waste can contain harmful pathogens and no one wants to step in it - yuck!

SBC will be delivering all households new food waste bins soon.

Food waste is to be collected weekly from all households across Stafford Borough.
The Government told local councils they must have a separate weekly kerbside food waste service from April 2026.

Residents will be receiving two new containers for their leftover food:
A small internal seven-litre kitchen caddy, and a larger 23-litre external kerbside caddy - along with instructions of how the new service will work.

There will be no additional charge to residents for the equipment or the service.

The Berkswich Parish Council meeting is still going ahead this evening at 8pm and all are welcome to attend. Please be very careful in the current weather conditions, I have been advised that the Village Hall car park and entrance have compacted snow on them which may be made more slippery by the rain and/or snow as the evening progresses so please take extra care.

Berkswich Parish Council will be holding an extraordinary meeting to allow public discussion on the planning application to build 40 dwellings on land off Old Croft Road. The full agenda can be found at https://berkswich-pc.gov.uk/meetingdetails/extraordinary-parish-council-meeting-6-january-2026/
