Students from Walton Hall Academy have been helping make Victoria Park Stafford look even better with litter picking, designing and planting flower beds - as well as helping feed the reptiles.
And as part of their busy week of work experience they met the Mayor of the Borough and had a chat with the Leader of Stafford Borough Council
They also created 'don't drop litter' posters and even helped write the article that you can see from a link in the comments below.

A consultation is now underway for residents, businesses and organisations to share their views so a new plan can be developed that will help regulate where things can and cannot be built, can prevent inappropriate development, and help protect the environment, countryside and habitats.
The initial consultation will run until 12 noon on Tuesday 28 July with the evidence helping support a "New Local Plan 2025 to 2045" for Stafford Borough.

A proposal to create a new town council for Stafford will be recommended in a report that will go before councillors in September.
It follows a six week-consultation earlier this year which received responses from around 1,000 people.
A cross-party working group on the borough council has also recommended that the new town council would not include the already parished area of Doxey.

The carpet beds in Stonefield Park in Stone and Victoria Park Stafford are paying tribute to major milestones of two organisations in our borough.

Victoria Park marks 150 years of Stafford Rangers Football Club and
Stonefield Park - celebrates 50 years of A Handful of Songs

The beds have provided a popular feature in the parks and previously commemorated major events such as - ‘Victory in Europe’ (VE) and ‘Victory over Japan’ (VJ), the coronation of King Charles lll and the platinum jubilee of the late Queen Elizabeth ll - as well as honouring the NHS, armed forces and several charities and organisations that do great work to benefit the borough.

Dangers of Open Water
Please read below and the link from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue https://www.staffordshirefire.gov.uk/your-safety/safety-outside/water-safety/

We are reminding people of the dangers of entering open water after a child was rescued from a lake in Stoke-on-Trent.

We were called at 6.30pm yesterday (Tuesday 26 May) to Hanley Park, on Cleveland Road, following reports of a child stranded in a lake.

Three appliances attended the scene alongside colleagues from West Midlands Ambulance Service.

The child was rescued and received medical treatment at the scene by paramedics.
