πŸ₯ National Healthcare Estates and Facilities Day 2026 - 1 week to go πŸ”Š

πŸ’‘ Why does it matter?

Estates and Facilities staff are often less visible than clinical teams, but they are essential to safe, effective patient care.

Their work ensures:

β€’ Hospitals and clinics are safe and compliant
β€’ Infection control standards are maintained
β€’ Patients receive meals and support services
β€’ Buildings, equipment, and infrastructure function properly

Without these services, healthcare delivery would not be possible!

We are pleased to announce the purchase of the new Singu FM Module to support reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPM).

This marks an exciting step and a key driver of digital transformation across the Trusts estates and facilities operations.

SINGU FM will help the Trust to realise benefits such as:

βš™οΈAutomation – Streamlined job allocation and workflows that reduce manual effort and improve response times.
πŸ” Segregation & Control – Role- and site-based permissions that ensure clear accountability and governance.
πŸ“Š Reporting & Insight – Embedded Power BI dashboards delivering real-time operational and strategic insights.
βœ… Compliance Assurance – Digitised compliance processes providing consistent, auditable assurance across sites.

Before rollout, we will be undertaking a structured and methodical planning phase to ensure a smooth and effective implementation. Colleagues will be invited to a series of workshops to help shape the approach and contribute to the implementation strategy.

My Cleaning Awards 2026 πŸ“£πŸ‘πŸ‘‡

Returning for its sixth year, with six award categories, the National My Cleaning Awards was its biggest yet, once again celebrating the invaluable role of our cleaning healthcare heroes and the event took place in Leeds on Monday 2nd March.

We are proud to say that Lidia Stolarczyk, Housekeeping Supervisor based at The Redwoods Centre was shortlisted and became a finalist for the Newcomer of the Year award! πŸ‘β

Newcomer of the Year award celebrates a cleaner who truly 'hit the ground running'. From their first day on the hospital floor, they have brought a refreshing energy and an exceptional work ethic. The award aims to shine a light on someone wo has taken to the role of cleaner and can be seen as a benchmark for success to encourage others to follow suit - helping to show healthcare cleaning as a possible, and positive, career option.

⭐Lidia's nomination:

Since joining the team in April, Lidia has made an immediate and positive impact through her strong organisational skills, high standards and commitment to patient-first values. She quickly gained the respect of her team by stepping onto wards to learn housekeeping duties firsthand, demonstrating genuine dedication to understanding and supporting their work. Always eager to learn, Lidia communicates openly, ensures her team feel heard and seeks answers where needed. Her supportive nature, proactive approach and ability to inspire confidence have made her a hugely positive influence. Lidia continues to excel and is truly deserving of recognition.

πŸ₯ National Healthcare Estates and Facilities Day 2026 - 2 weeks to go πŸ”Š

🎯 What is the purpose of the day?

The main goals are to:

1. Recognise essential staff - it highlights and thanks the hundreds of thousands of people working behind the scenes who are vital to patient care. Estates and Facilities teams make up around 8% of the NHS workforce (approx. 250,000 staff.)

2. Raise awareness - the day promotes understanding of how critical these non-clinical roles are in delivering healthcare services.

πŸŽ‰ How is it celebrated?

Healthcare organisations across the UK take part in activities like:

β€’ Staff recognition events and awards
β€’ Thank you messages
β€’ Social media campaigns
β€’ Team celebrations (e.g. cakes, raffles, appreciation events)
