Thank you to everyone who attended our Extraordinary Meeting, submitted comments or contacted the Town Council with their views. Your feedback played an important role in informing Councillors' decision.

A select 25 traders await to offer you the best in local produce, both primary and secondary producers, and also giving an opportunity to showcase small businesses relating to food/farming/cookware.

Very excited to announce that we have two NEW TRADERS starting this Saturday:

Firstly we have HAMBLETONS BAKERY. Hambletons are local bakers serving St Ives and we are really pleased that they can also bring their breads to their local market. They produce traditional breads using the best local ingredients wherever possible, producing them without any additives and using long established recipes.

Secondly we have MATCHAECO. Olly will be selling matcha green tea, this popular drink sourced from a traditional Japanese farm. They have won the 'Great Taste Award' in 2024 and 2026.

𝐂𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐜 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲 - 𝟐𝟎𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

One of the many long-held traditions of St Ives Town Council is the annual Civic Sunday Parade and service, which this year will take place on Sunday 20 September 2026. The parade serves as a symbol of unity, community spirit and pride in local government, culture and our town, will be led by the RAF Wyton Area Voluntary Band, The 42 Engineer Regiment (Geographic), The Royal British Legion, along with a number of our youth groups.

Setting off at about 11am, from near Waitrose on Station Road, the parade enters Market Hill and arrives at the Town Hall, where the Town Mayor, Councillors and dignitaries join the parade, led by the town Mace Bearer. They then march along The Pavement, Crown Street and The Broadway, up to All Saints Parish Church, for a short church service.

The parade then re-forms and marches back to Market Hill at about 12.15pm, where the Town Mayor inspects the parade and thanks all of those who have participated. All are welcome.

𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

As part of Heritage Day 2026, the Council Chamber on the first floor of the Town Hall will be open 10am – 2pm. Hear the history and see the Civic Regalia.

Stanley House was built as a private home in 1850 and served as the Town Hall from 1924. An impressive staircase leads to the upstairs Council Chamber.

In the Council Chamber there will be a display of Civic Regalia, some of which you may try on. The Mace Bearer will be present, in his full regalia. Volunteers will be on hand to give you the history of the house, its inhabitants and Mayors.

The Huntingdonshire District Council waste minimisation team would like to invite you to their next waste minimisation meeting, where residents, volunteers, and councillors will hear about current trends and activities, as well as get the chance to express their thoughts and ideas on the topic of reducing our waste in Huntingdonshire.

The meeting will be on Thursday the 10th of September, from 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm at Pathfinder House, St Mary's St, Huntingdon PE29 3TN.

🚨NEWS From HDC🚨

5 months after the successful launch of the service, Huntingdonshire District Council has released a new short film: ‘What Happens to Your Food Waste?’

Since the service launched on the 30th March 2026, residents across the district have already diverted an impressive 1,500 tonnes from general waste (~20 tonnes a day).

Neurodivergent Youth Group this summer!

Summer youth is a group specifically aimed towards 13-17 year old neurodivergent teens who want a place to socialise and get out the house over the summer break.

Fridays 1-3pm at the Burleigh Hill Community Centre, Constable Road, PE27 3ER. Free drop-in sessions run by Youth Engagement St. Ives. There’s no need to RSVP, but if you want more info please contact Charlotte [email protected] 🪷

𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫: 𝐄𝐱𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭

Following last week's Capital & Centric drop-in event, St Ives Town Council will meet this evening to discuss the proposals and agree the Town Council's response to the consultation.

We would like to clarify that these are not Town Council proposals. The Town Council first became aware of the proposals when they were emailed to us on 6th August 2026, and this evening's meeting provides an opportunity for Town Councillors to hear residents' views before finalising the Town Council's response.

To ensure as many people as possible can take part, the usual 15-minute public participation period has been extended, with residents able to speak for up to three minutes each.

If you wish to address the Town Council, please consider whether your comments add a new perspective to points already made. This will help ensure a broad range of views can be heard during the meeting.

We look forward to hearing residents' views.
