Cambridge Water have, with immediate effect, declared a temporary hosepipe restriction that includes Eltisley. This means that:

Everyone (with very limited exceptions) will need to stop using their hosepipes for the following non-essential activities:

o watering gardens
o filling ponds, fountains, paddling pools, swimming pools, hot tubs or cold-water plunge pools
o washing cars, patios or windows

Note that using a hosepipe to water vegetables is not permitted.

The restriction or ban will become enforceable from 1am on Friday 17 July 2026.

In the recent ballot Eltisley residents voted by 55 votes to 46 to delay the opening of Cambridge Road into the village until the full A428 Upgrade scheme goes live in about a year's time.

101 residences out of 168 voted meaning that 68% took part in the ballot. The count by parish councillors was witnessed by resident Andy Howell.

If you would like to help tidy up our somewhat tired looking village pond then please join the village working party tomorrow morning, Saturday 2nd August for a couple of hours.

We will be trimming some of the trees and bushes around the pond and removing the waste, some from the previous working party, and clearing any other detritus.

We also hope to launch our new duck house!

Please bring gloves, and any loppers and secateurs you may have. Other tools will be provided.
