Residents are invited to share their views on South Holland District Council’s proposed Council Tax Support (CTS) Scheme for 2027/28.

✅ Who is supported?
Working-age households (up to 85% support with children / 75% without)
Families, people with disabilities and carers
War Disablement Pensioners, War Widows/Widowers, and Care Leavers (protections unchanged)

South Holland tenant, Ian Cole, now has a much warmer home and cheaper electricity bills thanks to South Holland District Council’s Warm Homes project.

External wall insulation, loft insulation, solar panels and low energy lighting have made his home more energy efficient.

He says his home feels warmer, more homely and comfortable with “phenomenal” savings on his electric bill.

South Holland District Council has already completed improvement works to 469 homes and has secured funding to upgrade a further 740 of the council’s least energy efficient properties. Subject to future funding opportunities, the Council aims to upgrade even more homes.

To find out more about the Warm Homes scheme, visit www.sholland.gov.uk/article/30790/Improving-the-energy-efficiency-of-homes. Tenants can also email [email protected] or call 01775 764449 or 01775 764881

We are aware that a large branch has broken away from the old willow tree near High Bridge and has fallen into the water.

Our team has assessed the situation and arrangements are being made for its removal. Due to the specialist equipment and contractor support required, the branch cannot be safely removed until early next week.

We appreciate your patience and understanding while we work to resolve the issue as quickly and safely as possible.

🐦 Local wildlife says thanks!

Litter doesn’t just look untidy – it can seriously harm wildlife and the environment. Animals can become injured by sharp items, tangled in packaging, or made ill by eating discarded food.

By taking just a moment to dispose of litter properly, you help:
✅ Prevent pollution
✅ Protect habitats and wildlife
✅ Keep natural spaces healthy

Your actions genuinely make a difference. Please keep litter out of nature and in the bin.
