π Filling a Skip: Right vs Wrong π§±
Not all skip loads are created equal! Loading your skip properly saves space, money, and hassle π
β
The RIGHT Way:
β’ Start with flat, heavy items at the bottom (soil, bricks, concrete)
β’ Break down bulky waste (furniture, boxes) to save space
β’ Fill gaps with smaller items to avoid air pockets
β’ Keep weight evenly distributed
β’ Stop at the fill line β overfilling can mean extra charges or collection refusal
β The WRONG Way:
β’ Tossing everything in randomly
β’ Leaving large empty spaces between items
β’ Overloading one side (dangerous for lifting)
β’ Sticking items out over the top
β’ Mixing prohibited waste (paint, tyres, asbestos, chemicals)
A well-packed skip = fewer trips, lower cost, and safer collection π
