Built in 1900, destroyed by various storms and floating mines, rebuilt in 2001, this Pier is unlike any other in the land. A real contemporary twist on everything we do - you can eat delicious home cooked food, play with the most brilliant hand-built unique machines and shop for really beautiful gifts.

Our Ice Cream Parlour 🍦 and Fish & Chip Shop 🍟 will be open late on New Year’s Eve, so whether you’re wrapping up a coastal stroll or heading out to celebrate, you can grab a classic favourite before the countdown.

Pop down, soak up the atmosphere, and celebrate with proper seaside classics. See you on the pier! 🥳

Out of respect for a family closely associated with Southwold Pier, the pier will be closed on Tuesday 28th October.

We appreciate your understanding and support during this time.

The pier will reopen as normal on Wednesday 29th October.

⚠️ Update – Paddle Steamer Visit ⚠️

We’re very sorry to announce that due to high winds and rough seas, the Paddle Steamer will now not be docking at the end of Southwold Pier on Thursday 25th September as originally planned.

For the safety of all involved, boarding will instead take place at Ipswich Docks, with coaches arranged to take ticket holders from Southwold to Ipswich.

We know many of you were looking forward to seeing this iconic vessel at the Pier, and we share your disappointment. Thank you for your understanding, and we hope to welcome the Paddle Steamer back to Southwold Pier on calmer seas in the future.
