Yesterday Grange Park Primary School’s Wrap Around Club visited St Columba Court sheltered housing scheme to help out in the garden 🪴

The children did a great job tidying up the rockery ready for planting summer flowers in a few weeks.

They had help from 96 year old ‘Grampy’ who lives at St Columba Court and volunteered at Grange Park Primary when his grandchildren were young.

It’s great to see the younger and older generations working together and sharing their knowledge.

We are looking forward to going back in a few weeks when the flowers are ready 👍

Yesterday we visited John-Paul at Sunderland Home Grown to find out more about all the amazing work they do 🤩

They have a FREE Veg Club every Monday 10am-12pm 🥒

A bee club on a Monday at 1.30pm 🐝

SEND and disability arts and crafts/ agricultural on a Thursday

The flowers are looking amazing and we can’t wait to see the lovely display grow over the summer months 🌺

Witnessed dangerous driving❓

Did you know that you can submit dash cam footage to Northumbria Police if you have witnessed poor driving 🚘

This includes:

⚠️Dangerous driving
🤪 Driving without due care and attention
🤷‍♂️ Careless driving
💥 Not wearing a seatbelt
🚦Failing to stop at a red traffic light
🛣️Crossing solid white lines
🚗Offences where a driver is clearly not in proper control of a vehicle

Great chance to get some time outside with the kids after school 😀

More details below👇

Come and join us on Tuesday 9th of June at 3:45pm for a family friendly after school session. 🐝

We will be doing a nature inspired light exercise session suitable for kids and adults (if you want to join in) putting on some healthy snacks and will have some craft activities on the go as well. 🌿

This session will continue into Summer so stay tuned for additional dates. A lovely way for families to spend some time outside together. ☀️

New Heritage Blue Plaque on Southwick Green

Have you spotted the new heritage blue plaque on the side of the old dentist on Southwick Green❓

The new plaque was researched, written and funded by the Southwick Village Green Preservation Society 👍

It celebrates the Grey Family whose son Charles Earl Grey became Prime Minister and who the famous Earl Grey tea was named after 😀
