Dorset Labour Women's Forum

Dorset Labour Women's Forum An open group of Labour Party Women members, supporters in Dorset.

Promoted by Hollie Ridley on behalf of the Labour Party both at Labour Central King's Manor Newcastle NE1 6PA. This forum aims to welcome
Labour Party members, supporters and those just interested in getting involved. We aim to encourage women of all ages in the Dorset area to get involved and active in our local Labour Party and local campaigns. We aim to listen to women’s views and ensure that t

hose views are reflected in policy discussions. In order to do this we will work to bring like-minded women together, to meet and discuss issues that matter to them. We will reach out to women in the wider community through local campaigns, and work with women’s organisations in the constituency to engage women voters and highlight issues that are of particular relevance to Dorset women.

Important to acknowledge the women in Labour who have been right all along. Agreed, Wes Streeting has proved willing to engage with us.

Gender-critical feminists have plenty of reason to worry that Starmer still doesn’t grasp their concerns

Pleased to see that Labour acted quickly in the face of such misogyny.

Good luck Donna! 🌹

Dear Resident of West Dorset, my name is Donna Lumsden, I am the Labour candidate running to be your local MP, I am counting on your votes.

If you vote for me to be your local MP, I assure you that I will be your MP who listens to you all, and deals with the issues that you are facing quickly and efficiently.

I will address the economic decline in West Dorset, the deprivation that is so obviously deepening and widening in the area including the issues of job availability and opportunities, housing, transportation, rising living costs - issues that affect us all. Making sure all careers are paid better and respected, especially those the Conservative (Tory) government has left behind.

I will make it my mission to put an end to child poverty, be a strong voice for children and young adults with disabilities.
Support Youth Services and apprenticeship for young adults.
I will be looking at these areas in particular for investment.
My promise to you I WILL GET THE JOB DONE.

Your Labour candidate for West Dorset
Donna Lumsden

Well done, but no need to stop there ♀️

Well done, but no need to stop there ♀️

Diversifying representation doesn't happen by accident.

Thanks to LWN training, 47% of Labour Party candidates are women.

This compares to just 33% for Conservatives, and a pitiful 28% for Lib Dems.

All parties must pull their weight to achieve an equal House of Commons.
