If you are aged 40 to 74 years old, you may be invited to an NHS Health Check. This helps to identify your risk of developing conditions like high blood pressure, heart disease or type 2 diabetes.

The NHS is running a short survey to learn what people think about the NHS Health Check programme - whether you've heard of or used the service or not.

This survey will help the NHS to understand what’s working, what isn’t, and how the programme can better reach and support people in staying healthy. The survey is anonymous and should take around 10 minutes to complete (link in comments)

Major football tournaments bring people together, but for some, they also bring increased risk. Reports of domestic abuse rise during major football tournaments (by around 25%).

If you or someone you know needs help, there is free, confidential support available from Stop Domestic Abuse 👇

The NHS are making changes to improve health services across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight – and want to hear from you.

Share your feedback in a short survey – link in the comments.

Over the last year, a lot of work has taken place to improve services and deliver the national 10 Year Health Plan. Launched last summer it outlined three major shifts for the NHS that will make the biggest difference to people’s lives:

- From hospital to community: Moving care closer to people's doorsteps by establishing Neighbourhood Health Centres and shifting outpatient care into local settings.
- From sickness to prevention: Catching illnesses earlier and promoting lifestyle measures to prevent diseases before they require hospital treatment.
- From analogue to digital: Creating the most AI-enabled and digitally accessible health system in the world, making it as easy to book appointments and manage care as online banking.

These shifts are already underway. They are shaping how we design services, how we work with partners, and how we support people across our communities. We want your views on how this is working for you so far.

This short survey is for anyone living in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, including Southampton and Portsmouth. By sharing your views you’ll be helping to inform how we plan and improve health services in your neighbourhood. You can find the link in the comments.

If you work with the community in Portsmouth, you play a vital role in shaping people’s health and wellbeing, whether you realise it or not.

Join Portsmouth City Council and HIVE Portsmouth on Tuesday 2 June (10.30am–12pm) at St Luke’s Church for a practical, friendly session exploring the everyday factors that influence people’s health from the places they live and work to the support and opportunities around them.

Why this matters for you:
• Your work already contributes to improving health, this session will help you understand how and why
• Gain insight into how what you hear from communities can shape services and local decision-making
• Strengthen your ability to connect your work to wider change across the city

This session is designed to be accessible, engaging and relevant, with no prior experience needed.

Whether you're supporting individuals, running community projects, or influencing local priorities, this is an opportunity to better understand the impact and value of your work in improving health across Portsmouth.

This is the first session of the free Summer Learning Sessions, helping you build practical insight, strengthen your impact and make the most of what you already see and hear in your work.
