Andy Burnham wants to make holidays and stays in the UK more expensive.

Labour’s Tourist Tax will hit Southport particularly hard as a town that relies on tourism, leisure and hospitality for a huge part of our local economy.

Sign the petition and let Labour know, we don’t want a Tourist Tax in Southport.

Labour’s uncapped Tourist Tax will do nothing for Southport’s tourism and hospitality sectors apart from turning hoteliers into tax collectors and damaging our local economy.

It’s a terrible idea from a Labour Party that has no clue how businesses operate.

Conservatives on Sefton Council were the only party to put forward a motion opposing it back in January with Labour calling it “scaremongering”.

There’s not even a guarantee that money raised in Southport will stay in Southport, with councillors in Liverpool calling for most of the money collected to be spent there.

Another tax increase for local businesses to contend with, courtesy of Labour.

Labour are the welfare party.

Yesterday, Andy Burnham said the quiet part out loud at PMQ’s and confirmed what we all knew.

Labour prioritise social security over national security and he’s too scared of his own backbenchers to tackle the ballooning welfare bill.

Labour’s policies in a nutshell - successful man makes lots of money and pays lots of tax, equivalent to 38,000 average taxpayers - Labour “tax him more” - successful man simply leaves.

Now he’s gone and we all get to pick up the tab.

Labour’s high taxes, and the prospect of even higher taxes, are driving wealth creators and entrepreneurs out of the country.

You don’t get world class public services by driving those who pay the most tax out of the country.

It’s becoming clearer every day that it’s Conservatives under the leadership of Kemi Badenoch who are best placed to beat Labour.

Reform are in free fall and embroiled in yet another scandal about dodgy money.

The Conservative Party is focussing on what is best for Britain with a common sense plan to deliver lower taxes, a growing economy that helps deliver the world class public services we need, a stronger military, stronger borders with a focus on personal responsibility and rewarding those who make the right choices.

Cut welfare, fund defence

Labour aren’t prepared to take the difficult decisions to protect the UK and will just carry on borrowing more and more.

Conservatives have a plan to tackle the ballooning welfare bill to fund defence spending.
