👏 Another Tom, another great week of work experience! 👏

This week we welcomed Tom for a work experience placement, giving him an insight into everything the fire and security industry has to offer — from the technology and systems involved to the people, skills and teamwork needed to make it all happen.
Work experience like this plays a vital role in introducing young people to the industry, showcasing the variety of career paths available and helping inspire the next generation coming into fire and security.
Thanks for spending the week with us, Tom — great to have you on board and best of luck for whatever comes next! 👏

🌱 Southport – this Sunday is all about community, connection, and coming together 🌱
We’re proud to be supporting the Great Big Green Lunch this Sunday 7th June—an incredible, free community event bringing people together through food, creativity, and shared experiences 💚
Taking place from 12–4pm, the event is part of a national movement encouraging neighbours, families, and communities to come together—whether that’s by sharing a dish, joining in activities, or simply enjoying the atmosphere.
At the EFT Foundation, we’re proud to be supporting behind the scenes—helping with promotional materials and sponsoring the children’s planting station, creating a space where young people can get hands-on and learn more about sustainability and the environment 🌿
Events like this are what community is all about—bringing people together, building connections, and creating something positive for the future.
👉 Watch the video below to find out more and hear why this event matters
👉 Then come down on Sunday and be part of something special
We’ll see you there! 🙌

🌿 Giving Back to Our Community 🌿

The EFT Foundation was delighted to donate £250 worth of plants to the Lord Street in Bloom Garden Volunteers Bandstand Project.
It’s fantastic to support the restoration of such a beautiful and iconic part of Southport’s heritage.

A huge thank you to Sharon at Asda for the opportunity to get involved—we’re proud to play a small part in this great initiative! 👏

Huge well done to Liv, Ben and Michael for representing EFT so brilliantly at Sefton’s very first podcast launch 👏🎙️
Taking part alongside Tony Bellew, they showed real maturity, confidence, and professionalism throughout making a fantastic impression on everyone involved. It was brilliant to hear them talk so openly about their journeys, what they love about their roles, and life working and living in Sefton. We couldn’t be prouder of how they stepped up and embraced the opportunity.
A big thank you as well to Geoff White for hosting such an inspiring session, and to Sefton Council for creating an incredible space at the new podcast studio. It’s a brilliant addition to the borough and a powerful platform for sharing voices and stories from across the community.
And finally, thank you to everyone who attended, supported, and took the time to share such positive feedback about our apprentices—it means a great deal.

This is exactly what developing future talent is all about 🙌

🌟 Your Lancashire, Your Future – Burnley 🌟

We were delighted to take part in the recent Your Lancashire, Your Future careers event in Burnley, attended by students from five Lancashire schools.
It was a fantastic opportunity to inspire young people to explore different career paths within our industry. Our apprentices, Liv and Joel, shared their personal journeys, while Contract Manager Tom spoke about his career progression—giving students a real insight into opportunities in construction and engineering.
A really fun, interactive day and great to see so many engaged and enthusiastic students! 👏

🎙️ Something exciting is coming…........

We’re really proud to share that a group of our EFT apprentices have been invited to take part in the very first Sefton podcast launch, hosted by the brilliant Geoff White 🙌
This is a fantastic opportunity for our apprentices to step outside their comfort zones and share their experiences—talking about life at EFT Group, what they love about their roles, and what it’s like living and working in the Borough of Sefton. It’s exactly the kind of platform that helps give young people a voice and showcase the future of our industry.
The new Sefton Podcast Studio at the Digital Hub is an exciting addition to the borough, creating a space for real conversations, community stories, and fresh perspectives—and we’re delighted to be part of it from day one.

We can’t wait to hear the finished episode and see our apprentices represent themselves and EFT so brilliantly. Have a look at their photo from their first warm up

📢 Keep an eye out for the launch later today !

The Area 2 Engineering team swapped tools for helmets and hit the track for some go-karting team bonding!
Lots of fun, plenty of competition, and a reminder that not everyone can take top spot… 😄
Great effort from everyone—it looked like a brilliant night! 👏

An incredible achievement from Finn and Stewart at EFT Construction, alongside Finn’s dad Simon 👏🚴‍♂️
Over three gruelling days, they cycled 340km from Southport to Edinburgh, before Finn went on to complete a full marathon—all in support of Alder Hey Children’s Charity, raising an amazing £4,000+ so far.
What makes this challenge truly special is the story behind it. For Finn and his family, Alder Hey is far more than a hospital—it’s the place that delivered life-changing care during one of the most difficult times in their lives. This was never just about the miles covered; it was about resilience, gratitude, and giving back to a charity that supports so many children and families when they need it most.
The determination, strength, and heart shown by all three has been nothing short of inspiring. It’s a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when purpose drives you forward.
A huge thank you to everyone who has donated, supported, and shared messages of encouragement—it has meant so much and helped spur them on every step of the way.
There’s still time to support this incredible cause—if you can, please consider donating:

Well done, Finn, Stewart, and Simon—you’ve done something truly remarkable 🙌

🌿 EFT Wellness Day – Supporting Connection & Wellbeing 🌿

As part of Mental Health Awareness Month, we were proud to host a fantastic Wellness Day at Edwards Court, Stockport, in partnership with Onward Homes—focused on tackling social isolation and bringing people together.
The day was designed to create connection, boost wellbeing and encourage participation, with a brilliant range of activities including:
🐾 Calming and uplifting sessions with Hope’s Therapy Dogs
😄 A joyful wellbeing boost with Sunny Turner from Serious Laughter
🏃‍♂️ Engaging and inclusive activities led by Louise Walker
☕ Time to relax, chat and enjoy refreshments together
Social isolation is a very real challenge, particularly within assisted living communities, and it was fantastic to see residents come together—sharing laughter, building connections and enjoying meaningful moments throughout the day.
A huge thank you to Julie at Edwards Court, David from Royce Court, and Nicky, Onward’s Older Person Specialist, for hosting and helping us deliver such a positive and impactful event.
At EFT, we are passionate about supporting wellbeing and strengthening communities—and days like this really highlight the difference that connection and kindness can make. 💜
